Susan Ott: Ecuador

I first picked up a DSLR camera in 2000 when I enrolled in Betty’s photography class at our local community college. After getting the “photography bug” from her class, I went to Alaska 6 times over the years with Betty (once is never enough!), accompanied her to Ecuador in 2003 for a magical trip up a tributary of the Amazon River and the astounding Galapagos Islands, and have attended several of her workshops (Point Reyes and Bodie, to name a couple). Every trip was fabulous, with Betty making special effort to see that her students not only were positioned to get great shots, but felt at ease in asking for her assistance in understanding their cameras and exposure settings necessary at the locales to get those shots. I just wish I had the time to take all her wonderful workshops.
