Bodie Interiors

Bodie, on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas, was once one of the biggest, baddest mining towns in the American West. By the 1930s, mining had dwindled, and fires destroyed most of the town. Folks moved on, but remarkably, they left many of their belongings behind. Today the town—managed in a state of “arrested decay” as a state park—the interiors are a dusty treasure trove of antiques of all kinds. I’ve been leading photography workshops to explore these interiors since 2003 and I constantly find new subjects, new angles. These images (and many more) are available for purchase as prints from my online Imagekind gallery. Also prints and downloadable images for publication are available at this site. If you don’t see what you want, get in touch.
