Photo Restoration

Do you have boxes full of cracked, faded old family photos? Using Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements, you can do amazing, almost miraculous recovery of these images. This workshop will cover scanning techhiques and many restoration tricks and tips. You'll learn about layers, curves and the specialized tools that make photo restoration so fun and easy. Once you learn a few photo restoration basics, you'll solve your family gift-giving challenges for years to come!

You should have at least a vague acquaintance with any version of Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements. To get the most out of this workshop, you should bring a laptop with either Elements or Photoshop installed, although you can also just watch the techniques presented. If you have a couple of old photos, bring them and we'll work together to restore them. I'll be bringing a scanner, but you should have a thumb/flash drive to transfer the files from my laptop to yours.

Some Background:

Over the last year, I've scanned and restored over 500 photos for a book project featuring historic photos. In addition, I've brought back to life hundreds of personal family photos and for many years have taught photo restoration as part of my Photoshop class at Folsom Lake College.
