Glacier Bay 2005

After anchoring the Delphinus at Sany Cove in Glacier Bay, we pushed on through the mists to Sturgess Island, where, finally, we began to settle into the subtle nuances of this Alaskan wilderness. Right: shells trapped on a rocky beach. Below: looking east to the mainland and the Chilkat Range. Below right: passengers prepare to board the Zodiac skiff for a ride back the Delphinus.

Along the edges of rugged Tidal Inlet, this mountain goat and her kid clamber up loose talus slopes. [Note: photo is cropped from original.]
