Workshops are Filling Up!
Here are details on a series of short (and a few long!) private workshops designed for digital photographers that vary widely to accommodate budget and calendar needs. Some of these are patterned after field classes I’ve offered for years through Folsom Lake College, some workshops will be new. If you're interested in any of these workshops, please fill out the online forms at the bottom of the enrollment page and get them back to me asap. I also hope to do some short Photoshop workshops during the winter months if I can find a decent venue. |

A Day in the Vineyards and Coloma. September 25. Venezio Winery has graciously invited us to photograph the grapes right in the middle of harvest. This will be a day of food, wine and fun! $135. Plenty of room in this workshop, although a lot of people say they're interested. I can only take up to 10 people.
Bodie and Fall Colors, October 1 and 2. I’ve been leading field trips to the ghost town of Bodie and the eastern Sierra Nevadas for years and look forward to returning again. I have the go-ahead to lead a private workshop, limited to ten people INSIDE the buildings in Bodie, with its photogenic jumbles of slowly deteriorating artifacts. $350. Warning: this workshop is almost full. One spot left as of 8/25.
Hope Valley. Right at the peak of fall color we will spend an evening (October 7) and a day (October 8) amid what are probably the most spectacular fall colors in Northern California. We will base ourselves at Sorensen’s Resort. Breakfast and lunch at Sorensen's are included in the fee of $135 per person. Perhaps one spot left as of 8/25.
Point Reyes Field Seminars. I am honored to be part of the highly esteemed Point Reyes Field Seminars program this fall. My three-day workshop (November 5-7, 7 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Sunday), Seeing Like a Camera, will be based at the photogenic and historic Lifeboat Station at Chimney Rock. Enrollment is now open! Follow the links from my Point Reyes web page. Enrollment has been a bit slow, so those of you who are interested (I have had a lot of inquiries) need to get going!
East Africa. For a year now I have been planning a trip to Tanzania, center of some of the best wildlife viewing and photography in the world. I visited there many years ago and fell in love with the region. This trip will take place in early July 2011. I need to get a head count SOON!
Alaska 2011. Planning is still preliminary, but right now the dates are August 9-17 and cost is $3995. This is the best trip of the season, an extravaganza of whales, bears and scenery! It is different and better every year; this will be my 14th trip with Dolphin Charters. I'll be sending out more info. Several people are already interested, so let me know. I have a feeling this trip will fill fast. Many more workshops to come! Check my website for updates. And of course, contact me for more info. I hate spam as much as you do.
