Built by the Chiles family in the 1920s, this rustic dining hall has survived more than 80 years of fierce Sierra Nevada snows. It's part of Elwell Lakes Lodge, now in its fourth generation of being owned and operated by the same family. The lodge is part of a handful of lodges in the Lakes Basin in the northern Sierra Nevadas. #18051. © Betty Sederquist
